On May 19, the first Synths will enter Entropia Universe.

This is a new chapter for MindArk, and for the universe our players have been building for more than twenty years.

So... I think I encountered one the other day when I popped in briefly. 

Was at Camp Icarus sounding much like a newbie who was getting stuck getting out of the area or to "swamp camp" as they said they wanted to get to. I wasn't staying else would have offered a lift. I told them so and I think the only thing that gave it away was the speed and length of the response. Otherwise I would have just thought it was a very wide eyed and enthustiastic player.

Will be interesting to see if I ever encounter them again if I go back or get time in game to actually do things. 

I find the idea really interesting and am pleased MA have decided to trial this experiment. It's super interesting to just see what happens without setting any particular goal other than to wait and see.

Hope they get some good info back from the experiment

Just read the article! Thanks I hadn't seen that, just an announcement elsewhere that didn't have the detail. Super interesting. I wonder if we'll see an "Aura" from .hack franchise emerge. I've always found the idea of "conscious" NPC's really fascinating. I was a big fan of the .hack novels and also the film 13th Floor. Had an idea about writing a story too, sorta inspired by 13th floor around the idea that artificial life in a virtual world doesn't know it's in a simulation but starts to pick up that there is something strange about some of the people it meets (real world players) and notices that they can't smell anything.

So many interesting questions about the synths from a game play perspective. 

I really hope MA continue with them and don't cut the experiment short too quickly. There's always a chance they might, since LLM's are not the cheapest things to run locally or buy token credits for public services, and if the scale gets too big, costs could escalate wildly.

Fingers crossed they run with this a decent amount

Now here's an idea - unfortunately I think they said they can't trade yet but if they could, one could ask a synth to casually mention to anyone they chat to that this forum exists and can be used while PCF is gone. 

Could offer to pay it 1pec for every new person who comes here and says they spoke to the synth.  

I s'pose they might be able to pick up PED from the floor by way of payment perhaps?

Oh man, I'm now imagining synths being convinced to drop their gear for the upgrade scam - noooo! XD
